The tourism authorities of Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macao met in Macao on 6th February for the 2018 work meeting in order to sum up their achievements in tourism co-operation last year and formulate marketing goals and collaborative projects for 2018, following which a ceremony was held designating the chief of the Zhuhai Culture Sports and Tourism Bureau as this year's rotating chairman.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Zhongshan Tourism Bureau Director He Jiebin and Deputy Director Deng Shuling, Zhuhai Cultural Sports and Tourism Bureau Director Wang Lingping, Zhuhai Tourism Development Centre Director Zhong Guohuai plus marketing officials of the three tourism authorities attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Wang Lingping introduced the collaborative marketing projects of 2018, including multi-destination promotions to be held together in Quanzhou, Fujian Province and Jinan, Shandong Province plus leveraging mega events to be held in the three destinations as platforms to promote their tourism resources. In addition, an English version will be produced in 2018 of the Food Guide of Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Macao, printed and released last year, as a tool to encourage international visitation to the three destinations on one trip.

Within various regional co-operative frameworks, MGTO will make concerted efforts in 2018 to forge closer collaboration with its counterparts in the region and conduct regular work meetings whilst developing multi-destination tourism resources. The Office will also partner other tourism authorities to capture the opportunities presented by the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area in order to promote their tourism resources and multi-destination tourism products as all join hands to forge a world-class travel destination.
