MGTO Promotional Activities in April
April showers bring May flowers, and it is a wonderful time for travel. In order to welcome visitors from all around the world to visit Macao - UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will hold a series of events in Malaysia, the United States, Hong Kong, Australia, and Portugal (in chronological order) to promote Macao's wonderful tourism experiences and rich tourism resources.
Servicing one of the major source markets of mid-range tourists for Macao, MGTO Malaysia will organize a series of events to attract even greater visitation. From 6th to 8th April, MGTO Malaysia will participate in the 2018 Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair in Johor Bahru to promote the travel products, events and festivals of Macao.
MGTO Malaysia will also invite Sock Peng and Sally, two well-known Malaysian bloggers, to Macao to discover the destination and share its 'Besties Trip in Macao' with their large followers. In particular, they will highlight Macao's gastronomic gems along with helpful travel tips, and also introduce the arts and culture of Macao to their many fans via a visit to 'Tap Siac Craft Market'.
Moreover, in line with the 6th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo, MGTO Malaysia will organize a travel agents familiarization trip from 27th to 29th April, with ten agents from Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur familiarizing themselves with the latest Macao tourism has to offer.
The United States
From 5th to 9th April, MGTO USA will attend the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival in Pebble Beach, California, at which it will showcase the uniqueness of Macao gastronomy to an affluent and attentive audience with a high propensity for travel. During the Festival, MGTO USA will also work with Chef Pascal Olhats, whom they have collaborated with in the past.
MGTO USA will host several travel agents from the U.S. on a mega familiarization trip from 20th to 29th April to showcase Macao as an ideal destination for tourism.
With Macao a favourite location for Hong Kong visitors, MGTO Hong Kong will hold The Friends of Macao Gathering - slated for the 13th April in Cordis Hotel, Hong Kong - in which it will seek to provide a platform for Hong Kong travel agents to connect with Macao trading partners, enhancing mutual co-operation.
On 20th April, MGTO Hong Kong will also hold a Gastronomy Luncheon for the gourmet industry at Club Lusitano to introduce Macao's 'trending' tourist spots, events and festivals - plus promotional campaigns running in the Hong Kong market, as well as other information related to Macao's new sobriquet of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy and 2018 Macao Year of Gastronomy.
A two-day familiarization tour will be organized by MGTO Hong Kong from 26th to 27th April for Hong Kong travel agents during the 6th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo, enabling participants to experience the latest developments in Macao.
The fever of Macao Gastronomy is reaching ever further! MGTO Australia has arranged for an eye-catchingly decorated Eat Truck to take to the streets preparing world-renowned Macanese dishes like African Chicken, pork chop buns and piping hot Portuguese egg tarts. The Eat Truck - roaming the thoroughfares of Sydney from 18th to 22nd April - is designed to showcase the diverse gastronomic culture of Macao.
Macau Tourism Promotion & Information Centre in Portugal (CPITMP) will arrange a familiarization tour for 12 members of the Portuguese travel trade to attend the 6th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo from 21st to 29th April.
