Organised by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the 29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest will be staged above the sea area overlooked by Macau Tower on 1st, 8th, 15th and 24th September and 1st October. Ten pyrotechnic teams will present spectacular fireworks displays synchronised to music and laser lights in a multimedia experience not to be missed.

This year, the Contest pits ten teams (in order of performance) from the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Belgium, France, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Italy and China against each other, of which fireworks companies from Korea, Belgium, France and China will debut in Macao. All the contestants boast a rich experience in creating mega multimedia fireworks shows. Some of their portfolios also include fireworks displays tailored for major national celebrations in various countries, garnering accolades from international fireworks contests across the world.

The shoreline of Macau Tower, Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, Macao Science Center and Taipa plus Penha Hill and the leisure, cultural and creative landmark Anim'Arte NAM VAN are among several popular vantage points favoured for watching the famous fireworks show.

Meanwhile, MGTO and the General Union of Neighbours Association of Macau will jointly present the Fireworks Carnival next to Macau Tower from 5:00pm to 11:00pm every fireworks evening featuring a confluence of delicacies, performances and games, enriching the event with more fantastic experiences.

The fireworks displays will also be broadcast live on TDM - Macao TV Channel, while synchronised music streaming from TDM - Radio Macao's Chinese Channel (FM100.7) will be available at 9:00pm and 9:40pm every scheduled evening so that spectators can fully enjoy the annual spectacle.

Furthermore, four outreach programmes sponsored by Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A. will be held in tandem with the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest this year, including the Songwriting Contest newly launched to welcome the 30th edition of the Contest; the very popular Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest and Trophy Design Contest will also call for entries once again. Macao residents are encouraged to join the programmes to express their unique pyrotechnic experiences.
