In co-operation with Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Air Macau has painted Macao tourism mascot MAK MAK on ‘Cidade de Macau’, the latest aircraft in the Air Macau fleet. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said that this is the first time MAK MAK will have appeared on an aircraft flying to multiple locations to promote Macao tourism. Attired as a chef, MAK MAK will not only encourage visitors from around the world to explore the Historic Centre of Macao but also promote Macao as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, highlighting the tourism appeal of Macao.

Director Senna Fernandes remarked that Macao was designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy more than a year ago, inspiring the territory to foster sustainable development based upon ‘creativity’, the key word for Macao tourism development in 2019. The creative artwork of the Macao tourism mascot will further enrich the tourism experiences of residents and visitors and indulge them in the creative atmosphere that Macao has to offer.

With 2019 marking the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of the People’s Republic of China and 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, MAK MAK’s flights around the region on ‘Cidade de Macau’ are sure to strike a chord with visitors from around the world.
