Border Gate East Off-Limits to Travel Agency Vehicles

The Macao SAR Government Transport Bureau (DSAT) has announced that travel agency vehicles have been forbidden to enter the Border Gate East tour bus drop-off zone from 4:00pm to 8:00pm daily since 22^nd February to relieve traffic congestion in the area. Travel agency vehicles can pick up and drop off passengers in Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Macao port and other border crossings.

In order to relieve the traffic at Customs clearance and solve traffic jams caused by shuttle buses in the area, DSAT initially implemented the measures on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays on 8^th December, 2018.

Given the measures have achieved the anticipated results and utilises the border crossing facilities and resources, DSAT reached an agreement with the Public Security Police Force (PSP), Macao Government Tourism Office and related groups from the tourism industry to extend the measures to daily implementation. PSP will also implement provisional measures forbidding travel agency vehicles from entering the Border Gate East tour bus drop-off zone at other times, as well, based upon pedestrian flow and the traffic situation.
