MGTO Promotional Campaign Wins PATA Grand Award

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has unveiled the 33 winners of the 2019 PATA Grand and Gold Awards.

The Grand Award in the Marketing Category goes to the mega promotional campaign ‘Experience Macao Food Truck in Los Angeles’ rolled out by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) last year. Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited also secured a PATA Gold Award in the category of Marketing - Hospitality for ‘The Art of Winning’ advertising campaign, marking its third win of the same accolade since 2017.  

MGTO hosted the ‘Experience Macao Food Truck in Los Angeles’ from 29th May to 2nd June 2018, providing samples of signature pork chop buns and Portuguese egg tarts from Macao, with twice-daily lion dance performances, and practical travel tips. MGTO also invited key members of the trade and media for a firsthand sampling of the Food Truck delicacies ahead of the official launch of the campaign. In addition, through an integrated media approach, destination and food truck promotions were rolled out across print and online media. The Macao Food Truck also visited five iconic Los Angeles destinations, further enhancing the overall effectiveness of the promotion.  

Meanwhile, Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited’s ‘The Art of Winning’ advertising campaign, is designed to promote the re-launch of its flagship integrated resort, featuring visionary artwork, architectural masterpieces, high-end gastronomy and immersive entertainment designed to indulge the senses via unprecedented, groundbreaking experiences.

At the PATA Gold Awards Dinner and Presentation on 19th September during PATA Travel Mart 2019, to be held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan from 18th to 20th September, the Association will present four Grand Awards and 29 Gold Awards to celebrate extraordinary accomplishments in seven broad categories: Marketing Campaign, Environment, Corporate Social Responsibility, Heritage and Culture, Education and Training, Marketing Media and Travel Journalism. A judging panel of tourism industry experts will select winners from among 197 entries received from 78 organisations and individuals from around the world.
