The 4th International Film Festival & Awards.Macao (IFFAM), which will be held from 5th to 10th December, will hold a brand-new section titled ‘20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations’, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. A selection of local films will be screened in this non-competition section, to bring outstanding local film productions into the limelight on the international stage and to showcase the diverse dynamic of the cultural and creative industries in Macao while paying tribute to the city’s film industry.

In the meantime, members of IFFAM Organising Committee attended the 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) held last month in Busan, Korea. Members of the Organising Committee of the 4th IFFAM, including Macao Government Tourism Office Director and President of the IFFAM Organising Committee, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes; Member of the Administration Council of Macao Foundation, Ho Kuai Leng; Council Chairlady of Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association and Secretary General of the IFFAM Organising Committee, Alice Augusto; and Head of Festival Management, Lorna Tee, were invited to attend the opening ceremony of BIFF on 3rd October. Joining famed Korean star Kim Jun-myeon (Suho), the newly-appointed Talent Ambassador of the 4th IFFAM, they marked their presence on the red carpet in the opening ceremony, attracting more publicity for IFFAM in this major event of the international film community.

As an annual international event in Macao, IFFAM will continue to push forward the development of Macao’s film, cultural and creative industries, increase exchange opportunities with international movies as well as unveil a wider landscape for the development of cultural and artistic platforms, tourism and other fields. Besides the ‘20th Anniversary Macao Special Presentations’, other sections of the 4th IFFAM include the International Competition, New Chinese Cinema, World Panorama, Flying Daggers, Gala, Special Presentations, Director’s Choice and Shorts Competition.
