Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix Blistering this November

The Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix will be held from 14th to 17th November, bringing once again four headline races, among which three are official FIA World Cups, while a wide variety of side activities are also lined up for residents and visitors to feel up close Macao’s top motorsports event.  

For the fourth consecutive year, the Suncity Group Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix is designated the official FIA F3 World Cup, and this year for the first time the race will feature the cars which contest the new FIA F3 Championship. In addition, for the fifth successive year, the SJM Macau GT Cup is the FIA GT World Cup. The Macau Guia Race, meanwhile, will feature drivers and teams from the FIA World Touring Car Cup - WTCR for the second time. The Suncity Group Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix - 53rd Edition has once again attracted some of the world’s best international road racers to compete on Macao’s legendary 6.2km Guia street circuit.

In addition to the four main races, the ever-popular FOOD4U Macau Touring Car Cup and the Suncity Group Greater Bay Area GT Cup, which are open this time to GT4 cars from a variety of manufacturers, will provide local and regional talents with a high-profile showcase.

Apart from the Grand Prix race, a wide variety of activities will be held: from 2nd to 3rd November, the Macau Grand Prix Family Carnival will again be held in Tap Seac Square. Through racing car-themed interactive games, children will get to know and understand the professional racing world in an enjoyable way, and experience the fun of the various roles and tasks in organising the event.

The popular annual supercar and motorcycle show at Tap Seac Square will be held on 9th and 10th November. Residents and visitors will be able to spot close enough the charm of the GT3 sportscars and superbikes that will take part in this year’s Grand Prix.

MGTO Stage Roadshow in Foshan to Promote 2019 Macau Grand Prix

Macao Government Tourism office (MGTO) staged the ‘Experience Macao Your Own Style’ Roadshow in Foshan, Guangdong Province from 19th to 20th October to highlight Macao’s tourism resources and events. Macao Tourism Mascot MAK MAK guided Foshan residents to explore a series of interactive themed zones about Macao’s World Heritage Site, Suncity Group 66th Macau Grand Prix, the 4th International Film Festival & Awards.Macao (IFFAM), Macao Light Festival 2019, and 2019 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon. Grand Prix simulators were available in the Roadshow alongside a display of motorsport car, together with the ‘Macao Lighting Bicycle’ and a mini Red Carpet for IFFAM, which allowed locals to experience the thrill of car racing and unique photo opportunities on the red carpet.

The Roadshow also featured a gastronomic zone where Macao’s signature snacks were distributed to the public during interactive activities, to radiate Macao’s glamour as a Creative City of Gastronomy. A range of singing and dancing performances were staged during the Roadshow besides fun games and lucky draws, drawing residents and visitors to step into the Roadshow and soak in the lively ambience.
