A series of mega events will be held in this December in Macao, namely: 4th International Film Festival and Awards.Macao (IFFAM), Macao Light Festival, Macao International Parade, Macao International Marathon, and so forth, offering a string of different travel experiences to visitors. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is organising activities (in chronological order) in the United States, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, among other locations, to promote Macao via all available channels.

United States

MGTO USA will participate in the 2019 USTOA Annual Conference & Marketplace, which will be held from 2nd to 5th December in Las Vegas, Nevada, and from 2nd to 6th December, in Orlando, Florida respectively. The annual conference successfully offers valuable opportunities to present Macao to the US tour operators. The conference is inclusive of pre-scheduled meetings, which enable MGTO USA to develop trade relationships with top tour operators across the US. It also allows them to discuss the inclusion of Macao into their products and itineraries.

In conjunction with the 4th IFFAM and 2019 Macao Light Festival, MGTO Malaysia will invite five media entities - including TV station, radio station, online platforms and key opinion leaders (KOL) - to experience both festivals and renowned film locations in Macao from 4th to 8th December. During and after the trip, the media will create content in different perspectives to promote the events with the theme - ‘Journey with the Films and Light Festival’ and publish them in the media’s respective platforms. MGTO Malaysia will also produce a ‘Journey with the Films’ Digital Travel Guide and distribute it in online platforms, social media, travel fair and roadshows.

Moreover, MGTO Malaysia have engaged three millennials KOLs, including: Jeff Lau (marathoner runner), Khaisin Low (Beauty Pageant) and Mika Chan (model) to film a series of short film in Macao featuring the latest attractions, events and festivals with the theme ‘Travel with Buddies’.

Hong Kong

To further reach the potential travel agents and extend the appreciation to Macao’s trade partners in Hong Kong, a ‘Friends of Macao’ Networking Meeting will be held on 9th December at the Intercontinental Hong Kong. The event serves as an effective platform for the travel trade representatives from Hong Kong and Macao to communicate and exchange ideas on 2020 sales plan under a casual atmosphere.
