Jointly organised by the Macao SAR Government Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, ‘Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR - 2019 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon’ will be held on 1st December. Routes for both the Marathon and Half Marathon remain the same, and will continue to pass over Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, by A-Ma Temple and Sai Van Bridge, facilitating the synergistic benefits of tourism and sport. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR, the 2019 Macao International Marathon will set up a ‘GEG Handover Cup’, of which the top three male and female local runners in the Marathon and Half Marathon categories will be awarded prizes sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group.

Macao International Marathon has become one of the city’s showcase events of the year, attracting long distance runners from all over the world. This year, around 12 thousands enthusiastic participants are slated to run in Macao. In addition, the ‘Active Group Trophy’ for the Mini Marathon category will be presented to the groups, including schools, sports associations, government registered organisations, and public and private entities, who completes the race with the largest number of participants.

Both ‘Join Us and Upload Best Shot to Win Lucky Draw’ and ‘Most Creative Costume Award’ will continue this year to add another dimension to the Marathon, whereby participants only need to upload a photo themed with this competition to the ‘Macau Marathon’ mobile app, so as to enter the lucky draw and have the opportunity to win prizes.
