A three-day shopping carnival will take place at The Venetian Macao resort from 7 August, with some 500 booths expected at Cotai Expo.
With food, entertainment, giveaways and discounts of up to 80 percent, the carnival is a move to stimulate domestic consumption and boost the economy. The event offers a free business platform for local retailers and small- and medium-sized enterprises, while creating a new destination for locals and tourists.
Staged by integrated resort operator Sands China Ltd, and co-organised by the Macao Chamber of Commerce, the event is supported by the Macao Economic Bureau, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. Sponsors include the Bank of China Macau Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Ltd, Luso International Banking Ltd and Banco Nacional Ultramarino.
The Sands Shopping Carnival takes place from 7 to 9 August at Cotai Expo Halls D and E, The Venetian Macao. Doors open at midday. Admission is free.
To protect public health, Sands China will take preventative measures against the spread of COVID-19, such as regularly cleaning and sanitising the venue. Participants must register online to attend the event, wear protective face masks, have their temperature taken, and follow crowd control instructions.
