On 11 April, some 10,000 runners will gather at Sai Van Lake Square to compete in the first-ever 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K, for either the 10K or Fun Run.

The 2021 Sands China Macao International 10K event is jointly organised by the Macao SAR Government Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, with Sands China Ltd as the title sponsor.

The 10-km race begins at 7.30 a.m. at Sai Van Lake Square and the course follows Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, to the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre and Sai Van Bridge, with the finish line located inside the Olympic Sport Centre Stadium. The Fun Run covers 5 km and starts at 7 a.m.

The number of entries in each event has been restricted to 4,000 participants for the Fun Run and 6,000 places are available for the 10K race.

To deliver the safest possible conditions for the participants, the organising committee will follow the anti-pandemic guidelines issued by the Macao SAR Government Health Bureau.

On race day, participants will have to show proof of a valid, negative COVID-19 test result. Participants must comply fully with Law No. 2/2004 on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, and pay attention to and cooperate with the anti-epidemic measures of the Macao SAR Government.
