Macao caravan roadshow tour visits more Greater Bay Area cities

More cities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will be visited by the “Experience Macao, Unlimited” caravan roadshow tour this month and beyond after it journeyed across the GBA and visited the cities of Zhuhai and Zhongshan in August and September. In preparation for the resume of package tours, the roadshow is to be joined by a Macao tourism product presentation seminar and mini mart on its upcoming stop in mid-November in Shenzhen, with more cities in GBA set to follow. Other GBA cities promotions slated to be conducted this and next year in time slots still to be confirmed include Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Dongguan and Huizhou.

Organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the roadshow aims to attract more residents in GBA cities to travel to Macao and experience the city. Featuring a spectacular caravan at its heart which is used as a stage for performances and audience interaction, the roadshow covers Macao’s festival events, gastronomy, sports, wedding photography, travel photography and elements of its leisure tourism offerings. The on-site outdoor interactive zone includes themed backdrops for check-ins on social media, a graffiti wall, an interactive exhibition gallery, a game booth, a parent-child workshop and a 3D mapping show. The six major integrated tourism enterprises from Macao also run promotional booths at all of the roadshows and online travel agencies sell tourism packages and other special offers on site at each destination.

In addition, in tandem with the roadshow MGTO also organises a Macao tourism product presentation seminar and mini mart in each city to introduce the advantages of Macao’s tourism industry and to establish a platform for participants to exchange and communicate to promote the destination and boost targeted business contacts between travel trade to facilitate the return of package tours.

MGTO is committed to promoting the abundant “tourism+” elements of Macao, combining offline activities and online campaigns to enable residents of the Mainland to experience the many different features of Macao and to attract visitors from across the GBA to visit the city so as to boost its tourism and economic recovery.
