The Macao SAR Government announced in April it was planning to turn part of the Taipa Ferry Terminal into a second terminal for Macau International Airport, in order to support the airport’s development.
The new terminal is expected to have check-in areas for as many as four airlines and be capable of handling 1.4 million passengers a year.
In mid-April, members of the Executive Committee of the airport’s operator, Macau International Airport Co. Ltd, conducted a site inspection of the Taipa Ferry Terminal and revised the details of the conversion project.
The second terminal will serve as an ancillary facility to the airport’s main terminal, currently already under expansion.
