“2021 hush! Summer Concerts” take the stage from 26 June

The event “2021 hush! Summer Concerts”, organised by the Macao SAR Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, will take place from 26 June to 11 July in various locations on the coastline. This year’s venues include the Macao Science Centre Square, the Navy Yard No. 2, and the Ponte 9 Rooftop.

Promoting musical diversity and opportunities for exchange, “Hush!” has been a regular feature of Macao’s cultural scene for more than a decade. This year’s event will divide the participating bands into three categories, namely “Hot Wave”, “Upbeat Power” and “Summer Chill”.

There will also be a “Music Workshop”, featuring instructors teaching pop music-related knowledge and sharing their experience, in order to provide opportunities for music aficionados to exchange views.

This year, for the first time, the event will feature a “hush! Kids” stage, for bands formed by members with an average age of up to 12. There will also be a number of concerts, thematic performances, booths hosted by local practitioners, and online music competitions throughout the event.

The organisers have also invited local bands, musicians and curators – under a “Themed Music Development” activity – to stage thematic performances through creative music programmes, seeking to promote the development of pop music in Macao.

At “Listen to hush! in the Tent” at the Macao Science Centre Square on 10 and 11 July, the pop performances will be paired with about 100 booths packed with local products and gastronomic specialities. Expect to see musical and design products, antiques, social services and booths selling food.
