With its theme “Towards a Green and Low Carbon New Era”, the 2021 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (2021MIECF) gets underway from 5 to 7 August.
The three-day event aims to promote international exchanges and cooperation on environmental protection across the economy, including governments, industries, universities, research institutes, end-users, and the financial sector. The event will be held at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel.
The Macao SAR Government has held the event for the environmental protection industry since 2008. The 2021MIECF is hosted by the Macao SAR Government, co-organised by provincial and regional governments in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, and co-ordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Macao SAR Government Environmental Protection Bureau.
The event has the support of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China.
This major event now has new attractions to help visitors explore green business opportunities, including a “Green Mobility Zone” and more online elements.
Online and offline experiences
Since its certification by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011, MIECF has been committed to promoting green development. This year’s event incorporates a more diverse array of online elements, such as exhibitions, matching services and live broadcasts, serving as a platform to encourage exchanges and co-operation.
Offline activities include the Green Forum, the Green Showcase, the Green Business Co-operation Day, Green Matching, the Green Public Day, and networking activities.
The “Greenovation Zone” returns to the Green Showcase, and this year offers a “Green Mobility Zone” displaying eco-friendly alternative fuel vehicles, equipment and technologies, that help contribute to the 14th Five-Year Plan and the country’s goal of carbon neutrality.
The three-day event will provide enterprises with business matching services and opportunities for exchanges through the Online Business Matching Service Platform and on-site industry networking activities.
A drawcard event
MIECF attracts businesspeople from Mainland China, Macao and beyond, helping improve technology transfer and sustainable development across the global environmental protection industry.
