Organised by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the 29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest will be staged in the sea area overlooked by Macau Tower on 1st, 8th, 15th and 24th September and 1st October. The Contest will debut with teams from the Philippines and Korea on 1st September, reaching its crescendo with Italy and China facing off on the People's Republic of China's National Day. Some 10 pyrotechnic teams will present spectacular fireworks displays synchronised to music and laser lights to present a multimedia experience par excellence that promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

This year, five memorable fireworks evenings (in chronological order) are themed as follows: 'Magical Colours in Harmony' (the Philippines and Korea); 'A Mysterious Fireworks Dream' (Japan and Belgium); 'Shining Voices of Heaven' (France and Portugal); 'A Sparkling Mid-Autumn Night' (Germany and Austria); and 'National Day Fireworks Celebration' (Italy and China).

The fireworks companies from Korea, Belgium, France and China will debut in Macao. All contestants boast a rich experience in the creation of mega multimedia fireworks shows. Some of their portfolios also include fireworks displays tailored for major national celebrations in various countries attracting a range of accolades garnered from international fireworks contests around the world.

The shoreline of Macau Tower, Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, Macao Science Center, Taipa and Penha Hill plus leisure, cultural and creative landmark Anim'Arte NAM VAN are just some of the vantage points popular with spectators eager to catch unobstructed views of the famous fireworks show.

MGTO and the General Union of Neighbours Association of Macau will jointly present the Fireworks Carnival next to Macau Tower from 5:00pm to 11:00pm every fireworks evening featuring a confluence of delicacies, performances and games, enriching the event with more fantastic experiences.

The fireworks displays will also be broadcast live on TDM - Macao TV Channel, while synchronised music streaming from TDM - Radio Macao's Chinese Channel (FM100.7) will be available at 9:00pm and 9:40pm every scheduled evening so that spectators can fully enjoy the annual spectacle.

In addition, four outreach programmes sponsored by Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A. are being held in tandem with the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest this year. The programmes include a Songwriting Contest newly launched to welcome the 30th edition of the mega event. In addition, the very popular Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest and Trophy Design Contest are calling for entries once again. Entries for all contests must be submitted to MGTO by 31st October 2018. Macao residents are encouraged to go creative!
