Unexpected Encounters, one of a series of Art Macao activities, takes place in City of Dreams from 6th June to 31st October, showcasing City of Dreams’ impressive art collection of contemporary masters, demonstrating how contemporary art has liberated itself from classical forms.

Fat Convertible, a plumped up Porsche, is one of Erwin Wurm’s famous Fat Car sculptures in which he requisitions the chassis of an actual Porsche, with the ‘fat’ created by lacquered polyurethane foam. Through this series of sculptures, Wurm probes the link between power, wealth and body weight.

Like most of KAWS’ works, Good Intentions is heavily influenced by popular culture, with toy-like, larger-than-life companion figures fusing features of Mickey Mouse, a clown and a skull, re-examining, in the process, our concept of nostalgia and parent-child empathy.
