MGTO Promotional Activities in July

Renderings of ‘Fun Summer in Macau - Tourism Carnival’ in Taipei

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) continues to initiate rich, diverse promotional programmes in the second half of the year. This month, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan will gradually unveil publicity initiatives to travellers worldwide to promote the tourist appeal of Macau. In addition, together with several Guangdong Province cities, Macau will hold a joint promotion in Malaysia and Singapore.

Malaysia

Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) will participate in the joint promotional activity 'Guangdong and Macau Sales Mission' in Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia on 7th July, driven by Guangdong Provincial Tourism Administration, Guangzhou Tourism Bureau, Zhongshan Tourism Bureau, Zhuhai Culture Sports and Tourism Bureau, Shaoguan Tourism Bureau and Jiangmen Tourism Bureau. The objective of this initiative is to create a direct mutual connection between tourism operators from Guangdong and Macau, and Malaysia, as this is a first-hand exposure and platform to benefit the trade, further assisting it to understand and promote the Pearl River Delta Region.

In addition, the 'Malaysia International Tourism Mart' will be mounted in Penang at the end of this month, with MGTO promoting Macau at the trade show. The 'Macau Explorer' reaches Kuala Lumpur this month. The outdoor advertisement campaign launched by MGTO targets young adventure enthusiasts who like to travel with a bunch of friends sharing the same interests, and families seeking a holiday destination suitable for kids, as well as food lovers and travellers who appreciate architectural heritage and the modern buildings of Macau.

Singapore

After the promotional activities 'Guangdong and Macau Tourism Sales Mission' held in Malaysia, it will move to Singapore on 9th July. The Guangdong and Macau tourism promotional activities initiative is a platform for business-to-business sessions whereby Singaporean travel trade partners can meet ground operators and hoteliers from the five cities of Guangdong and Macau.

In addition, MGTO Singapore representatives will organize a four-day 'Macau Travel Fiesta' roadshow in AMK Hub shopping mall from the 9th to 12th July. The objective of the roadshow is to arouse local residents' interest in and knowledge of Macau as a way of attracting them to visit the territory.

Hong Kong

A Dinner with Presentation for Concierges and Front Office Managers will be held on 23rd July at Hotel Icon. The objective of the event is to reaffirm MGTO's relationship with the profession, giving these 'frontline ambassadors' updated information on Macau's new attractions and latest developments, in addition to mobilising their support

Taiwan

MGTO will organize a roadshow titled 'Fun Summer in Macau - Tourism Carnival' in Huashan 1914 Creative Park from 31st July to 7th August. A 7-metre tall mirror reflection of the Ruins of St. Paul's, will enable participants to be creative, interact with the reflection, take photos and upload them to Facebook in order to share with friends and families. In addition, various on-site activities, including a checkpoint event, Macau-style performances and food tasting will be launched. Participants who join the checkpoint event will be given a postcard drawn by famous online illustrator Lus. Taiwan travel agencies co-operating with MGTO will be present at the roadshow to provide product information and assist participants in creating their own Macau tour itinerary.
