Chinese New Year’s Eve - A Fairytale of Lights!

‘Valentine’s Day Fantasia 2016 - The Fairytale of Lights’ spectacularly illumines the romantic environs of Taipa-Houses Museum

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) - in tandem with the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau and Cultural Affairs Bureau - presents 'Valentine's Day Fantasia 2016 -The Fairytale of Lights' in the romantic lakeside environs of Taipa Houses-Museum, with numerous other attractions to be enjoyed in nearby Taipa Village, as well, from 7th to 29th February. Amid an extravaganza of twinkling lights, the event - a dazzling dreamland for fairytale fans young and old - is tailor-made for both a romantic Valentine's Day and Chinese Lantern Festival.

Comprising 14 clusters of light installations and 9,999 rose illuminations, this scintillatingly colourful spectacle can be enjoyed from 6:00pm to 10:00pm every evening and is conveniently located at the stairways of Rua do Cunha, Calçada do Quartel, Avenida de Carlos da Maia, Rua da Restauração, Calçada do Carmo, Carmel Garden, Entrance of Carmel Garden, and stairway from Largo do Carmo to the Taipa Houses-Museum area as well as the Taipa Houses-Museum area.

Themed 'Cinderella's Glass Slipper', a 6-minute 3D mapping show will be staged in the Taipa Houses-Museum area every 30 minutes from 7:00pm to 10:00pm from 12th to 22nd February, with the last show 'screening' at 9:55pm. The beloved fairytale, which has enchanted countless children and their parents, will come to life in a brand-new way through innovative light and 3D effects. This interpretation of the story tells of a prince who travels through time to meet his girl again in Macao on Valentine's Day. He helps her fit her slim foot into the magical glass slipper and they live happily ever after - with sweet seasonal blessings showered upon every resident and visitor!

A 15-minute interactive game combining bicycle generators and 3D projection mapping techniques enabling participants to weave their own romantic fairytale will be available at half-hourly intervals from 7:10pm following each screening of the 3D mapping show every night, as well, with the last game at 9:40pm.
