IC Unveils 10 Heritage Sites to be Listed for Public Consultation

Public consultation for the first batch of Heritage Sites closes on 25th February

For the effective protection of Macao properties of important cultural value not included in the master 'Heritage list', the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), in accordance with the provisions of the 'Cultural Heritage Protection Law', has now identified the first batch of 10 such properties. These properties are assessed to reflect local cultural identity, with adequate information and details, evaluation and are deemed ripe for conservation. To this effect, IC launched a 60-day public consultation on 28th December 2015, concluding 25th February 2016.

The first batch of 10 properties are: Foc Tac Chi Temple do Bairro da Horta da Mitra (a parcel of land at the junction of Terreno no cruzamento da Rua de Henrique de Macedo and Rua de Tomás da Rosa); Foc Tac Chi Temple (Rua do Teatro); Foc Tac Chi Temple (No. 34, Rua do Patane); Foc Tac Chi Temple (No. 131, Rua do Almirante Sérgio); Ancient City Walls (near Estrada de S. Francisco; near Estrada do Visconde de S. Januário; near Penha Church); 28t houses on Rua de Manuel de Arriaga; the old Chong Sai Pharmacy (No. 80, Rua das Estalagens); General Ye Ting's former residence (No. 76, Rua do Almirante Costa Cabral); Former Municipal Stable Beef Cattle and the Municipal Dog Kennel; and the Blue House, No. 6, Estrada do Cemitério and No. 9, Rua de Jorge Álvares).
