Macao Green Hotel Awards Evaluate 18 Establishments

The Macao Green Hotel Awards, an initiative organized by the Environmental Protection Bureau, will announce the 2015 awards in the second quarter. This year, a total of 18 hospitality establishments are involved in the assessment, including five budget hotels, making it not only the largest number of candidates over the years but a reflection of the growing environmental management of budget hotels as the 'Green Hotel Award' concept gradually envelops all category of hotel in Macao.

The 18 candidate enterprises comprise ten 5-star hotels, one 4-star hotel, two 3-star hotels, four 2-star hotels, and one 3-star apartment. For the Macao Green Hotel Award 2015 the jurors have specifically paid attention to the 'source reduction of waste and reduction of food waste', 'Noise control' and 'light pollution', while adding an 'On-site evaluation sample' to on-site assessment work, as well as a 'Green Loyalty Award' and 'Green Award Pension'.
