Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) continues to hold diverse promotional activities this month in (order of appearance) Singapore, Portugal, USA, Taiwan region, Malaysia, the UK and Japan. The Office is employing different media to attract more visitors to Macao.

Singapore

In mid-October, MGTO Singapore launched a four-week long campaign - concluding 16th November - across multiple platforms, titled 'Experience Macao, Your Own Style', to reach out to Singaporeans and engage them in interactive initiatives. The promotion invites Singaporeans to discover Macao at the Ocean Financial Centre with a 54m wallscape display featuring various visuals including Macao's cobblestoned streets and squares. Concurrently, trains showcasing various Macao images, 15-must-eats and interesting fun facts of the city adorn Singapore's 5th Mass Rapid Transit line. In tandem with the campaign, a 'Macao Wall of Icons: The Giant Peel-Off' is running on social media. Participants in the various campaign activities stand to win a holiday and other travel awards to Macao.

Portugal

The 'Through the Streets of Macao' exhibition running from 13th October to 31st December - jointly organised by Macau Tourism Promotion & Information Centre in Portugal and Association Photography and Alcochete Culture -, display the works of award-winning Portuguese photographer Rui Palha at the Evora Museum in the city of the same name, located 133km southeast of Lisbon.

The first edition of Macao Book Forum - held from 24th October to 3rd November in Lisbon –features presentations, promotions of publications from Macao, and more. In addition, a joint promotional campaign by MGTO and Jade Travel enables the operator's representatives to make direct visits to travel agencies from 7th to 11th November to Aveiro, and from14th to 18th November to the Algarve, in an expression of gratitude for their unstinting support of Macao; at the same time, it is an opportunity to further train staff and persuade them to promote Macao even more actively to increase sales to the territory.

USA

The MGTO-USA representative is hosting a press trip for ethnic-focused media in the US market from 31st October to 4th November. The trip will enable journalists the opportunity to see Macao firsthand and equip them with the necessary knowledge and experience to write articles about Macao's heritage, cuisine, culture and development.

In addition, the MGTO-USA representative will attend Avanti Destinations' roadshow in San Francisco on 1st November and in Chicago on 29th November. MGTO-USA will also use this valuable networking opportunity to connect and build relationships with travel agency owners, top performing travel agents, airline partners, and other attending tourism boards.

Taiwan region

The Taipei International Travel Fair – running from 4th to 7th November – is regarded as the largest international travel fair to be held in the Winter season in Taiwan. MGTO will join hands with nine travel agencies to promote and offer Macao tourism products on-site.

Malaysia

MGTO Malaysia is busily preparing for the 'Experience Macao & Year End Macao Mega Sale' from 4th to 6th November, featuring key events and festivals - including the 63rd Macau Grand Prix, Macao Light Festival, Macao International Marathon, Parade through Macao, Latin City, International Film Festival & Awards Macao, as well as Anim'Arte Nam Van activities. Attractive Macao packages will be available at the event from two participating travel agents.

In addition, MGTO Malaysia is promoting Macao via five giant banners featuring a series of events showcasing Destination Macao – Experience Macao Your Own Style highlighting the Macao Light Festival, International Film Festival & Awards Macao, and Parade through Macao, Latin City.

UK

Leading global B2B event World Travel Market for the global travel industry will likely be attended by 50,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international press in London from 7th to 9th November. The MGTO-UK representative is taking a stand in the Asia section and hosting an on-stand reception for trade and media to update them on the latest news and products from Macao.

Japan

MGTO plans to combine marketing and media seminars plus business meeting session with a dinner reception. The programme - taking place in Tokyo (28th November), Osaka (30th November) and Fukuoka (1st December) - is designed to further strengthen the network with the trade and media partners to drive more effective marketing in the future.
