Macao to Organise Skål Asian Area Congress 2018

The 47th Skål Asian Area Congress will be held in Macao from 22nd to 25th June 2018. The announcement was made during the 46th Asian Area Congress held in Bahrain in mid-May, where a delegation from Macao presented to Skål members from across Asia the territory's attractions as a MICE and leisure destination and invited participants to attend the Congress in the city next year.

Executive Director of Macao Trade and Promotion Investment Institute (IPIM), Irene Va Kuan Lau, together with the Deputy Director of Macao Government Tourism Office, Cheng Wai Tong, and the President of Skål International Macau, João Manuel Costa Antunes, attended the 46th Asian Area Congress. During the event, the IPIM Executive Director briefed participants on the strengths and development of the Macao MICE industry. The MGTO Deputy Director also made a presentation to Congress delegates regarding the latest tourism developments in Macao. In addition, the President of Skål International Macau presented preparations and details for next year's Congress.

Skål International, headquartered in Spain, is an international organization that brings together people from all sectors of the tourism industry. Its objective is to promote tourism and enhance business contacts and promote friendship among the tourism sector. Currently, there are close to 400 Skål Clubs in over 80 regions and countries around the world with approximately 15,000 members.
