The Macau Myanmar Overseas Chinese Water Festival - a popular annual ritual hosted by the Macau Association of Mutual Help of Myanmar Overseas Chinese - holds its 23rd edition this year. The Festival - held from 20th to 23rd April - includes a photography exhibition, blessed rice distribution, parade, food carnival, performances and water carnival.

The photography exhibition, to be held in the first floor gallery of The Plaza Restaurant from 20th to 23rd April, will showcase commemorative photos of previous Festivals plus tourism photos. On 21st April, a Blessings Parade at 1:30pm will start from the Three Lamps District (Rotunda de Carlos da Maia) whence it will wend its way along Rua de Manuel de Arriaga, Est. de Adolfo Loureiro, Rua de Pedro Coutinho, and Rua de Fernão Mendes Pinto before returning to the Three Lamps District.

On the same day, the popular Myanmar and Southeast Asia Cuisine and Cultural Festival will be held from midday at Rua da Restauração, featuring booths of tempting Southeast Asian food, folk music and dance performances from 7:30pm in the Three Lamps District.

The highlight event is the Festooned Vehicle Parade at 10:00am and 2:00pm on 21st April and 10:00am on 22nd April starting from the Hotline Building in Alameda Dr. Carlos d'Assumpção in Macao, from where it heads to Taipa offering blessings to the public.

Another main activity of the Water Festival Carnival will be held at 3:00pm on 22nd April at Taipa Houses, presenting an opportunity for the public to good-naturedly splash 'blessings' water with girls dressed in the costumes of all the ethnic groups of Myanmar, in addition to praying and enjoying dance performances.
