With July the peak season for travel, Macao has prepared a series of exciting events for visitors from around the world. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will participate in and organise a packed schedule of activities in markets such as Hong Kong and Malaysia to enable visitors to experience Macao's lovely Summer and soak up some sun.

Hong Kong

MGTO is holding the 'Experience Macao Gourmet Style' Roadshow in the Star Atrium of Hollywood Plaza from 30th June to 2nd July. This event seeks to promote Macao as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in addition to promoting the '2018 Macao Year of Gastronomy' plus numerous Summer activities and mega events. On 1st and 2nd July MGTO will co-operate with six travel agents to provide special travel packages to attract Hong Kong visitors to Macao. Representatives from Planet J, 'Monkey King - China Show', Macao Science Center and Rua dos Ervanários will introduce their venues to Hong Kong consumers during the roadshow.

On 13th July, MGTO Hong Kong will organise a networking meeting for the Hong Kong and Macao travel trade. This event seeks to provide a platform for Hong Kong travel agents to connect with Macao trading partners, enhance mutual co-operation as well as alert them to the latest Macao tourism developments.

Malaysia

MGTO Malaysia will organise the 'Macao Super Sale' in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall in Kuala Lumpur from 2nd to 8th July, in which six travel agents will provide attractive Mono Macao & Pearl River Delta travel packages. The roadshow features major Macao events and festivals from August to December, including the Wushu Masters Challenge, 29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, 65th Macau Grand Prix, 2018 Macao Light Festival, and 3rd International Film Festival & Awards.Macao (IFFAM).

During the event visitors can experience Macao cuisine at a Macanese Food Tasting as well as an exciting 65th Macau Grand Prix on-site contest. Visitors can also look forward to a line-up of exciting activities during the roadshow such as taking photos with Macao's tourism mascot MAK MAK.

Moreover, 'Macao on the Go' Kombi Car touring in Penang and Ipoh, two major cities in Northern Malaysia, features the distribution of travel agents' package flyers and Macao delicacies designed to promote Macao's gastronomy and new tourist attractions.

From 23rd to 26th July, 'World Gourmet' will organise a Macao Gastronomy Trip to explore the gastronomy culture of Macao, with its 25 participants comprising restaurant owners and chefs who will exchange ideas and business opportunities with the Association of Macau Small and Medium Enterprises of Catering. There will also be cultural exchanges with the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) and the exploration of local delicacies, with their media partner providing coverage for the trip whilst promoting Macao's gastronomy and the city's very latest culinary surprises.
