MGTO Director Participates in UNWTO Global Summit on Urban Tourism

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, is a guest participant at the 7^th UNWTO Global Summit on Urban Tourism, taking place from 16^th to 19^th September in Seoul, Korea. The Summit will bring together high level representatives from tourism administrations and organizations plus related stakeholders to address the theme of 'A 2030 Vision for Urban Tourism'.

The 7^th UNWTO Global Summit on Urban Tourism will open with remarks by UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili plus the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, Do Jonghwan, among others. During the event, participants from all over the world will exchange successful cases and expertise, innovations and digital transformations in urban tourism, on the road to fulfilling the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The main sessions of the programme include a 'High Level Panel: Urban Tourism in 2030', along with the themed panels 'Looking Towards 2030: An Innovative Approach to Competitiveness in Urban Destinations', 'The 4^th Industrial Revolution Shaping the Future of Urban Tourism' and 'Urban Tourism and the Rejuvenation of Cities.' A UNWTO report on understanding and managing visitor growth in cities will also be presented at the Summit.
