With colourful fireworks lighting up the night skies throughout September - and National Day on 1st October - Macao's run-up to the end of the year's many festivities and events is set to go off with a bang! This month, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will hold a series of memorable events in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States (in chronological order) to promote Macao's tempting tourism treasures.

Australia

Held on 1st and 2nd September, the SMOOTH Festival of Chocolate is one of Sydney's major consumer foodie gatherings, with crowds of more than 40 thousand expected to join the Festival. MGTO Australia will hold a lucky draw with the major prize of a holiday for two to Macao offered during the event, while a colourfully decorated food truck will cater to hungry festivalgoers, courtesy of free platefuls of specially prepared Macanese delicacies. The food truck will take to the streets of Sydney for a week of dishing out more samples followed by yet another week in Melbourne after the Festival.

Hong Kong

MGTO Hong Kong has organised a Corporate Day on 7th September to promote Macao as an Incentive Destination, with more than 120 Hong Kong corporate representatives at top management level scheduled to attend. They will receive the latest updates on Macao tourism developments as well as the newest incentive products available in the territory plus details of MGTO's Travel Stimulation Programme.

On 20th September, MGTO Hong Kong will co-operate with Hong Kong Outbound Tour Operators Association Ltd. (OTOA) to host a Product Update Luncheon for around 100 OTOA members, at which Macao tourism, hotel industry development and festival events will be introduced.

And on 27th and 28th September, a two-day familiarisation tour will be available for members of The Society of the Golden Keys of Hong Kong (Golden Keys). The tour seeks to provide participants with up-to-date information about Macao's new attractions and latest developments, with 30 Golden Keys members slated to attend.

Malaysia

From 7th to 9th September, MGTO Malaysia will participate in the 2018 Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents Fair in Kuala Lumpur, highlighting 2018 Macao Year of Gastronomy plus other major events, festivals, culture and art of the territory, while supporting Malaysian travel agents in their marketing of Macao and the Bay Area products.

From 23rd to 26th September, MGTO Malaysia together with MJT World Vacation will organise a thematic trip to Macao named 'Memories', catering to couples and companion travellers. Some 40 trippers will get to enjoy the 29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, a DIY workshop and a special Romantic Tour.

United Kingdom

The MGTO UK representative will participate in the 'Taste of PATA' event organised by the UK Chapter of PATA on 11th September. To be attended by 300 travel agents and product managers, this interactive fair offers 'a taste' of the richly diverse destinations of the Asia Pacific region.

United States

In tandem with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, MGTO USA will host top-tier American travel agents in Macao to learn all about the destination and its offerings from 14th to 20th September. The familiarisation tour will take place over the course of a week, enabling MGTO USA to spark dialogues surrounding the creation of new Macao-centric travel products.
