MGTO Promotional Activities in April

To ride on the 7th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) - held from 26th to 28th April - Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will hold a series of events (in chronological order) in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the United States among other places. Specifically, events will include familiarisation trips, invitations extended to representatives from the tourism industry to join the Expo, dissemination of information on the Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Macao SAR plus up to date information on Macao’s multi-destination initiatives.

Malaysia

From 5th to 7th April, MGTO Malaysia will participate in the 2019 Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair in Penang, taking the opportunity to promote Macao’s UNESCO-listed World Heritage, 20th Anniversary of the Macao SAR plus tourist sites, events and festivals as well as the city’s gastronomy and culture via engaging activities. Visitors can also look forward to a line-up of exciting activities and attractive travel packages on offer during the Fair.

From 25th to 29th April, MGTO Malaysia will organise the ‘Promosi Hebat Macao’ Roadshow in IOI City Mall, featuring family fun activities and adventures plus Halal and Muslim-friendly dining places in Macao.

From 26th to 28th April, MGTO Malaysia will organise a travel agents familiarisation trip to MITE for 10 representatives from the industry in Malaysia in addition to an inspection of the Greater Bay Area cities of Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, Jiangmen, Macao and Hong Kong in order to promote multi-destination tourism products.

Hong Kong

MGTO will host the ‘SMART Travel in Macao’ Hong Kong Incentive Agents Networking Meeting and Luncheon on 12th April in Hong Kong, highlighting the most up-to-date Macao travel attractions (Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Gastronomy Tour), incentive travel products and Macao's new hotels. With over 180 representatives from the travel industries of Hong Kong and Macao expected to attend, the event will serve as the perfect platform connecting Hong Kong incentive agents and Macao trade suppliers - together creating the synergy to promote Macao as an ideal incentive destination.

In addition, a two-day familiarisation tour - organised by the MGTO Hong Kong Representative for Hong Kong travel agents for 25th and 26th April - will enable participants to experience the latest developments in Macao and participate in MITE.

United States

MGTO USA will attend the 2019 edition of The Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival from 12th to 15th April, a luxury culinary festival in famed Pebble Beach, California. MGTO USA’s booth at the Festival’s largest event - the Lexus Grand Tasting - will encourage attendees to sample some of the many delights on offer from Macao.

In collaboration with Cathay Pacific, MGTO USA will fly some key representatives from top-tier US travel agencies to Macao to participate in this year’s MITE FAM trip from 22nd to 28th April thereby encouraging the industry to create more suitable travel packages for their clients.
