Pavilion exhibition at MITE - Plus Lucky Draws!

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) specially presented a ‘Pavilion in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region’ at the 7th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) from 26th to 28th April.

The Pavilion - exhibiting the development of Macao’s tourism industry over the last two decades, from 1999 to 2019 - featured seven chapters spotlighting a review of national policy and positioning, tourism statistics, tourism industry and city development, comprehensive tourism experience, tourism service system, tourism promotion plus international and regional co-operation.

Texts, images, videos, statistical tables and more presented a comprehensive overview of significant events and milestones of Macao’s tourism industry, development planning, tourism facilities and products, destination promotions and external collaboration projects presented to familiarise residents and visitors with the role and contribution of the tourism industry to Macao’s economic development.

In addition, MGTO is holding a ‘Monthly Lucky Draw for Visitors in Celebration of the Handover Anniversary’ to promote the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR to visitors. The lucky draws will be held at the Tourist Information counters of MGTO - in the Ritz Building, Senado Square; Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal; Taipa Ferry Terminal; Macau International Airport; and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Frontier Post of Macao Port - on the 20th day of every month from May to November, with opportunities to win a special magnet souvenir.

MGTO has partnered with a local cultural and creative business to present the souvenirs. Designed to be part of a series, the monthly souvenirs are imbued with the diverse colours of the tourism landscape of Macao, from events and festivals to cultural heritage to signature delicacies and other elements. Visitors can collect seven monthly souvenirs won from the lucky draws to form an image of Macao’s signature landmark - the Ruins of St. Paul’s - encouraging them to revisit Macao and experience the unique glamour of the city in different months of the year.

Commencing May, another series of magnet souvenirs designed for sale will be concurrently available in limited quantity for purchase from souvenir vending machines at designated locations. Visitors who miss the lucky draws may still collect the other series of souvenirs themed around the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR.
