Chinese Cultural Exchange Association launched a global vote for eight new scenic spots of Macao on 15th January. Following 45 days of voting, the sights were officially announced on 29th March as follows: Penha Hill, Two Lakes and One Tower, Senado Square, Long Chao Kok, Coloane Fishing Village, Travessa da Paixão, Rua da Felicidade and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Some 30000 valid votes were cast; scenic spots with the greatest number of votes were weighted in a ratio of 6:4 between Macao residents and non-Macao residents. The organiser will launch a series of promotions for the eight places including a global photography competition to be launched in May, and themed stamps of the scenic areas to be issued by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT), while the Association will work with Macao cultural and creative industries to create scenic sight-related products, and collaborate with media from Mainland China, Taiwan region and Macao to roll out promotional campaigns.
