2019 Macao International Dragon Boat Races

The 2019 Macao International Dragon Boat Races - hosted by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the International Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China - will be contested on 1st, 2nd and 7th June at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre in boisterous celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival. Local groups will also foster the synergistic effects of sports, tourism and culture through the Races.

The Dragon Boat Races feature 10 competitions; namely, Macao Small Dragon Boat Race (Open Category, Women’s Category), Macao Public Entities Small Dragon Boat Race, Macao University Students Small Dragon Boat Race (Open Category), Macao Civil Servants Invitation Small Dragon Boat Race, Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race (Open Category, Women’s Category), Macao University Students Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race (Open Category) and Macao International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race (Open Category, Women’s Category).

In order to maximise the synergies of this major sports event, organisers will also showcase cultural activities and parades performed by local groups to combine local culture, sport and tourism elements, continuing the tradition of transforming the races into one of the most enjoyable carnival-like attractions of the city.
