First Macao Smart Hotel Award Goes to 25 Establishments

Organised by the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT), co-organised by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM), the ‘2019 Macao Smart Hotel Award’ presentation ceremony was held on 7th November. 25 local hotel were awarded on the first edition, in which, Emperor Hotel, MGM Cotai, MGM Macau, Wynn Palace, Wynn Macau and Morpheus were conferred the Elite Smart Hotel Award - the highest title in the Award.

Macao Smart Hotel Award evaluates the hotel’s comprehensive communication networks and service, advanced smart user experiences, application of innovative technology, and so forth. Six hotels were conferred the Elite Smart Hotel Award, five hotels were awarded with the Smart Hotel Award, and 14 hotels were praised with the Excellent Communication Service Hotel Award. All awarded hotels provide good telecommunications network coverage, and FreeWiFi.MO - free WiFi connection in public area. In addition, innovative technologies are applied on different level of the hotel operations, to enhance business efficiency and optimize customer experiences.

The five hotels praised with the Smart Hotel Award are: The Macau Roosevelt, Legend Palace Hotel, Beverly Plaza Hotel, Nüwa and Studio City Hotel. 14 hotels awarded with the Excellent Communication Service Hotel Award are: L’Arc Macau, Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, Hotel Guia Macau, StarWorld Hotel, Million Dragon Hotel, Rocks Hotel, Harbourview Hotel Macau, Holiday Inn Macau, Hotel Pousada de Coloane, Royal Infante Harbour View Hotel, Broadway Hotel, Metropole Hotel, and Riviera Hotel Macau.  

CTT Director Lau Wai Meng, MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, CPTTM Director General Shuen Ka Hung, Macau Hoteliers and Innkeepers Association President Chan Chi Kit, Macau Hotel Association President Wong Suk Yan, and representatives from the hotel industry participated in the award presentation ceremony.
