THE KARL LAGERFELD at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, the world’s only hotel entirely designed by and named after the late fashion legend, was open on 3rd December, 2021.

There are 271 rooms and suites, with each pattern, materials and decoration personally conceived or selected by Karl Lagerfeld himself. Specially commissioned furniture, circular room dividers referencing traditional Chinese moon gates and art décor of each room are inspired by chinoiserie, and every detail exemplifies the designer’s pursuit of perfection and distinct aesthetic vision.

Mesa is a contemporary Portuguese restaurant designed by Karl Lagerfeld for the hotel with a bar inspired by a Chinese bird cage. The Book Lounge in the lobby derives its inspiration from the designer’s huge passion for books, especially when it came to the famous library at his photoshoot studio in Paris. More than 4,000 real books are on display which were selected by 7L Bookshop owned by the designer.
