Two restaurants in Macao are among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for 2020: Sichuan Moon and the Wing Lei Palace. Both restaurants are in the Wynn Palace integrated resort in Cotai, a complex owned by Wynn Macau Ltd.

The latest edition of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants was unveiled at the end of March.

The judges of the awards ranked Sichuan Moon the highest of any of the restaurants appearing in the list for the first time this year: it debuted at 23rd place, receiving the Highest New Entry Award 2020. The restaurant serves Sichuan cuisine and is headed by star chef André Chiang. The Wing Lei Palace, headed by acclaimed Cantonese cuisine chef Tam Kwok Fung, leapt to 22nd place this year, up from 36th last year.

Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants was first published in 2013. The list is released annually, based on the recommendations of some 300 Asian experts in the hospitality industry.

Macao hosted the gala to announce the list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for two consecutive years, in 2018 and 2019. This year’s gala was to be held in Saga Prefecture, Japan, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The results were instead unveiled online.
