Event-themed itineraries launched as part of “Stay, Dine and See Macao”

Fresh themed tours have been added to the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” programme, offering Macao residents an opportunity to enjoy a diversity of local sightseeing tours, teeming with fascinating highlights linked to the city’s mega events at the end of the year, including the Macao Light Festival 2021 and the Light up Macao Drone Gala.

“Stay, Dine and See Macao” emphasises Macao’s “tourism +” initiatives, so that residents can enjoy a rich tourist experience in the city, aiming to spur rises in domestic demand and spending in communities for the gradual revival of tourism and related industries. The programme, which was launched in April, runs until 31 December this year.

The new itineraries were planned with themes related to the Macao Light Festival 2021, Light up Macao Drone Gala, Macau Food Festival, Macau Grand Prix, the “Arraial na Ervanários” community activity, and an activity titled “A journey that purifies the mind”. Aside from the opportunity to explore the city’s signature events, the itineraries offer a mix of sightseeing and interactive experiences, with different departing days on offer.

The six new itineraries were launched in mid-November and have been very well received by residents. The new themed tours add to the more than 10 itineraries available since September.

Every Macao resident is entitled to a MOP280 subsidy for one tour and is granted one MOP200 subsidy for a staycation under the programme. The cost of each hotel room can be subsidised to a maximum of MOP400, or the equivalent of the amount for two residents.

Interested residents can sign up by contacting travel agencies participating in the programme or via information counters located at six local hotels and integrated resorts. Visitors are also welcomed to join, upon paying the original price of the local tours. For further details about the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” please visit: https://www.macaotourism.gov.mo/.

New technological features elevate “Arraial na Ervanários” activity

The community activity “Arraial na Ervanários” was launched on 22 November, at Rua de Ervanários in Macao. The event, through the introduction of new technological features, such as augmented reality (AR), offers an online and offline experience, aiming to inject vitality into neighbourhood communities and help revive the local economy.

The AR application introduced at the “Arraial na Ervanários” activity is simple to operate and provides a fun experience. It features three interactive AR devices installed, respectively, at the entrance of Rua dos Ervanários (Time travel portal), at Calçada do Amparo (Flowers in full bloom), and at Rua dos Ervanários (Capture the moment).

The activity model was designed to entice residents and visitors to spend more time in these neighbourhoods and enrich their entertainment experience. The activity is complemented by special offers by participating local small- and medium-sized enterprises and a prize raffle to stimulate consumer spending in the area.
