Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, together with representatives of the Tourism Development Committee (CDT) and the MGTO, a delegation of 24 people, visited Hengqin on 17th December last year to meet with the Acting Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, António Lei Chi Wai, as well as the Acting Director-General of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, Huang Yujie. Both sides exchanged views on various topics between Hengqin and Macao, including the integrated development of culture and tourism, cross-sector co-operation in the field of “tourism +” and co-operation in large-scale culture and tourism conventions, exhibitions and commercial activities.

After the meeting, the delegation visited Hengqin’s tourism facilities and infrastructure, including the Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel, the Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Town, the Tinmuk River Rowing Park and the Mangzhou Wetland Park. Delegates also visited the Hengqin New Area Construction and Development Planning Exhibition Hall to learn about the development of Hengqin and the planning status of the Hengqin New Area.
